# Collection List

> A row of image cards under an optional heading, as many as you schedule.

Use **Collection List** for a row of image cards under a heading, such as "Shop by category". Each card has an image, a button that links to a page, and optional text under it. You can schedule as many cards as you like.

## Content per schedule

Any number of cards. In a schedule, click **Add content block** once for each card. There's no limit.

See [Create a schedule](/docs/scheduling/create-a-schedule.md) for the dates and the rest of the schedule.

## What you schedule in Block Hero

Each card is a content block. The **Add content block** window has these fields. Each card needs a **Content Name** and an image.

| Field | What it does on your store |
| - | - |
| **Content Name** | For your reports only. Shoppers don't see it. |
| **Desktop Image** | The card's image. Required. |
| **Redirect URL** | Where the card's button goes. |
| **Image alt text** | Describes the image for screen readers. Block Hero fills it in from the link and heading and shows **Auto-filled**. You can type your own. See [How alt text is filled in](/docs/blocks/overview.md#how-alt-text-is-filled-in). |
| **Heading** | Text under the image. |
| **Subheading** | Smaller text under the heading. |
| **Button Label** | The text on the card's button. Leave it empty to show **View Collection**. |

## What you set in the theme editor

These settings are on the block in the theme editor. They stay the same whatever you schedule.

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Block ID** | The ID you copy from the block's page in Block Hero. |
| **Heading** | The heading above the cards. Starts as "Collections". Leave it empty for no heading. |
| **Heading Size** | **Small**, **Medium** or **Large**. |
| **Image ratio** | **Adapt to image**, **Portrait** or **Square**. |
| **Number of columns on desktop** | From 1 to 5. |
| **Color scheme** | **Accent 1**, **Accent 2**, **Background 1**, **Background 2** or **Inverse**. |
| **Show 'View all' button** | Adds a **View all** button that links to your store's collections page. |
| **Number of columns on mobile** | Under **Mobile Layout**: **1 column** or **2 columns**. |
| **Enable swipe on mobile** | Under **Mobile Layout**: shoppers swipe through the cards on phones when there are more cards than columns. |
| **Padding top** | Under **Section Padding**: space above the block. |
| **Padding bottom** | Under **Section Padding**: space below the block. |
